Syndicate Conditions & Rules
1. Membership

Membership is by invitation of Mr. Len Russell (the Owner). The Owner reserves the right to revoke membership at any time, without refund or notice. His decision is final.

Membership runs for 12 months from the date of joining. Annual fee: £800 (inc. VAT), payable in advance to Russell Lakes Limited.

Syndicate Membership Cards must be worn at all times.
2. Access & Site Use
-
No entry or exit between 17:00 and 09:00 unless authorised.

All anglers must sign in on arrival and sign out when leaving.

Members use the site at their own risk. The Owner assumes no liability for loss, damage, or injury.
3. Lake Closures
-
No fixed closed season. Temporary closures may occur during spawning or for operational reasons. Notice will be given when possible.
4. Conduct & Responsibilities
-
No dogs permitted on site.
-
No guests allowed under any circumstances.
-
No loud music, fires, or weapons/power tools.
-
BBQs must be at least 1 foot off the ground.
-
Respect fellow members and maintain the peace and quiet of the venue.
-
No swimming. Wading is permitted if it causes minimal disturbance.
5. Fishing Sessions
-
Maximum session length: 96 hours.
-
Minimum 48-hour gap before returning to fish again.
-
Fishing is allowed only from designated swims. Fish your swim respectfully without encroaching on others.
6. Rod & Gear Rules
-
Rod limit: 3 rods max per angler.
-
Valid rod licences are required.

Hooks: Micro-barbed only. Barbless and bent hooks (except those shaped with shrink tube) are banned.

If using long curved “nailer”-type hooks, carry wire cutters in case of double penetration during unhooking.
7. Stalking & Mobility
-
Stalking is permitted with one rod away from your swim. Your other rods must be wound in.

You may not occupy or reserve two swims.
8. Boats & Bait Boats
-
Bait boats are allowed if operated safely and within your swim boundary.
-
Row boats are banned.

The red boat provided by Russell Lakes Limited may be used (daylight hours only, life vest mandatory). It must be returned to its trailer after use.
9. Fish Welfare
-
No sacking of fish at any time.
-
Flotation slings may be used for minimal retention during weighing and photography.
-
Do not bring wet slings, mats, or nets from other waters to avoid disease transmission.
-
Absolutely no removal or relocation of fish. Breach results in a lifetime ban.
10. Environmental Rules
-
Do not damage or remove vegetation or disturb wildlife.
-
No fishing or approach to islands, docks, or Russell Lakes structures.
-
No fishing on Lake 2 (jet-ski lake) between 09:00 and 17:00.
-
The area around the main building is off-limits in the evening (perimeter alarm active).
11. Cleanliness & Litter
-
Remove all litter—including cigarette ends—from your swim and nearby before leaving.
-
Littering results in a ban.
12. Optional Practices
-
Pre-baiting is allowed, but done entirely at your own risk. Notify a bailiff when possible.
13. Rule Updates
-
Rules may be amended or added at any time. Members will be notified. If in doubt, ask the Owner or Head Bailiff.
